KazNU and AURAK are Expanding Cooperation

Al-Farabi KazNU and American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK, United Arab Emirates) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The signing ceremony took place during the meeting of Rector Galym Mutanov with President of AURAK Al Alkim.

The Rector of KazNU introduced the high guest with activities and achievements of the University in detail, highlighting that the University is actively developing its partnerships with leading foreign HEIs and scientific centers, implementing joint international educational programs and research projects. He noted that one of the promising areas of work is the development of Islamic finance and banking, and the University actively interacts with Universities of Islamic countries. Together with foreign partners, educational programs on Islamic financing have been created, and a number of scientific and practical seminars and conferences have been held. Also, KazNU is the leading University in the region in training of orientalists, for this end there were opened the «Department of the Middle East and South Asia» and the Center of Arabian Studies.

In his speech Al Alkim thanked for the warm welcome and noted that the American University of Ras Al Khaimah is the state university of the Emirates. It was established in 2009, and it has four faculties with main focus on the specialties of Engineering and IT, Architecture and Petrochemistry, Economics and Business, Digital Media and PR. He also said that the University conducts scientific research, including in the field of sustainable development.

«Cooperation with KazNU in this direction is of special interest for us. The Kazakhstani University has been successfully leading the UN Global Hub «Academic Impact» Program on Sustainable Development, your experience and projects are relevant and worthy of attention», - stressed Al Alkim. The President of AURAK thanked the Rector of KazNU for the invitation to participate in the events dedicated to the 1150th Anniversary of the great thinker of the East Abu Nasr Al-Farabi, which will be held in 2020.

At the meeting, the sides expressed their willingness to implement all the reached agreements and signed a memorandum of cooperation. During the meeting, the guests also visited the Scientific Library and SSC «Keremet», got acquainted with the expositions of KazNU museums, the activity of the Situational Management Center and the Technopark.
