Nice meeting

Department of political science and political technologies of Al-Farabi KazNU held a meeting with a well-known journalist, author of the book «If there is a heart, will and desire...» Gulnar Bazhkenova.

The event was attended by the head of the Department Gulnar Nasimova, famous political scientist Dosym Satpayev, as well as teachers and undergraduate students. During the meeting Gulnar Bazhkenova told about the beginning of the career of the correspondent, shared her opinion about modern journalism.

In addition, she told about the history of writing the book «If there is a heart, will and desire...», which attracted the attention of many people. The book, published with the support of the Soros-Kazakhstan Foundation, refers to children, their parents, teachers and civic activists, who due to their characteristics can not attend school in remote regions of the country. The book also highlights issues in inclusive education.

«My purpose in writing the book is to show the life of a particular person. I wanted to tell you who they are, what they dream about, what kind of help they need. Our society should get acquainted with the life of unusual children, know what problems exist in our country. Because they are our reflection, part of us. In the cities of Atyrau, Kulsary, Astana, Kokshetau, Kyzylorda, Kazalinsk, Turkestan, Uralsk I met many people and what they need. Inclusive education is the education of children with special needs in the same class in the same school as everyone else. And in remote regions there is no such school, parents are embarrassed that their children are special and hide them at home. No one cares about what happens in the child’s soul. Perhaps he wants to go to school and learn, like other children, to play in the yard. Yes, it hurts.... But these are the events that take place in our society. And only we can influence the changes. Of course, during the visit to the regions, I am very glad to see that there are teachers who really want to teach children and teach such unusual children», - G. Bazhkenova said.

The book «If there is a heart, will and desire...» really found not only its reader, but also revealed all plans, contributed to a special and deep approach to special children and inclusive education.

The history of writing this book did not leave indifferent all the participants. Teachers and undergraduates, having heard new information on inclusive education, received answers to their questions.

At the end of the meeting Gulnar Bazhkenova presented to the library «Information Center for political studies» at the Department of political science and political technologies the book «If there is a heart, will and desire...».
