ON1 Carry out research activities in the professional field of national, world history of historical demography, history of cultural heritage, demonstrate deep knowledge of the current state and trends in the development of scientific knowledge in the field of methods and tools of historical research;;
ON2 To create prospects for the application of new approaches that have emerged in the “new historical science” (microhistorical, macrohistorical historical and anthropological, etc.) and ways of constructing interdisciplinary approaches in modern science and applying a heuristic research model;
ON3Analyze the evolution and transformation of historical research methods and distinguish strategies for applying interdisciplinary methods to related social and humanitarian disciplines (history of mentality, anthropology, psychology, philology, linguistics);
ON4 Demonstrate a systematic understanding of modern research practices based on modern interdisciplinary approaches and analyze the evolution of interdisciplinary methods and the prospects for their application within areas of historical knowledge;
ON5 Analyze and compare scientific approaches and major trends in the field of national and world history and interpret the essence of new approaches to the study of the fundamental problems of the socio-economic, political, constitutional and legal development of foreign countries;
ON6 To formulate the principles of research of ethnic, ethno cultural and demographic processes of the national state and integrate the knowledge gained and explain the features of the scientific concept of use in the cognitive and professional activities of the historical demography of Kazakhstan;

However, studying the history of States on the territory of Kazakhstan to the formation of the Kazakh khanate, the students will determine the principles of succession and continuity of state tradition. Actual problems of the Kazakh khanate: theoretical problems source, historiographical, political, ethnic background, origin of the Kazakh khans, the process of formation and periodization of history of the Kazakh khanate. Will consider the problem of the origin of the ethnonym "Kazakh".

Cross-Cultural Encounters in Ancient and Mediaeval Central Asia

The issues of contemporary intercultural interactions, programmes and activities of UNESCO in the field will also be covered by the course.
