The international scientific-practical conference «Modern problems of geographical science»

5-6 may 2014 Department of Geography, Land management and Cadastre, Faculty of Geography and Environmental Science of al-Farabi Kazakh National University will be held the international scientific-practical conference «Modern problems of geographical science» according to the 80^th anniversary of al-Farabi Kazakh National University and 65^th anniversary of the Department.

The main objective of the conference is to discuss the actual issues of modern geographical science geographers from leading universities and research centers of foreign countries, CIS and Kazakhstan.

Scientific topics and main directions of the conference:

• The main problems of physical geography and geoecology.
• Sustainable development and actual problems of economic, social and political geography.
• Human development and socio-demographic processes.
• Problems of soil science, soil protection
• GIS in modern geographic research.

Planned 5 breakout sessions and round table on topical issues of Soil Science will held at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Science, Block 6 (217, 219 and 229). Total declared more than 90 papers.
