On may 16 and 17, the military Department of al-Farabi Kazakh national University and the Department of defense of Bostandyk district of Almaty held a military-Patriotic action "Open doors".

In accordance with the Memorandum of cooperation between the Kazakh national University named after al-Farabi and the National Cadet Corps of the Republic of India, in the period from 13 to 17 may, a delegation of cadets visited the al-Farabi Kazakh national University and the military Department of the University.

In accordance with the national program "Rukhani zhangyru" to foster Kazakhstani patriotism among students and schoolchildren, on the eve of the Day of Defender of the Fatherland and Great Victory Day, in order to increase the prestige of military service and the Armed Forces of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University On April 12, 2019, the 3rd military-patriotic game "Sarbaz" for the Cup of the Rector of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was held.

On the eve of the 30th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, at the military department of al-Farabi Kazakh National University a lesson of courage was held with students studying at the military department with the participation of soldiers-internationalists lieutenant colonels Shashatsky Alexander Nikolaevich and Perepelitsa Viktor Ivanovich.

From January 15 to January 30, 2019 students of the military department of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University visited the Republic of  India.

January 18, 2019 at the military Department of the Kazakh national University named after al-Farabi held a solemn event to mark the day of creation of the Institute of deputy commanders for educational and socio-legal work of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On the eve of the national holiday, the day of the First President of the Republic of  Kazakhstan, on 30 November 2018 students of the military Department of al-Farabi Kazakh national University together with the University Museum held a student lecture "Our President!"

From 12 to 23 November 2018, students of the military department of the  Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi took part in the annual safari held by the National Cadet Corps of the Republic of India.
