11/1/2022

It is known from history that Spain, in particular Andalusia, has close religious, literary, scientific-philosophical, cultural-historical, socio-economic and political ties with the Islamic and Arab world. However, nowadays this connection is limited only at the level of some official state organizations and cultural centers. "Arab House" (Casa Arabe), one of the organizations, located in the cities of Madrid and Córdoba. This institution serves to preserve and develop scientific, educational, cultural and historical ties between ancient Andalusia and the modern Arab world.

Erkinbek Shokay, director of the Center for Arab Studies, visited "Arab house" by special invitation during his visit to Spain. He got acquainted with the projects of this institution in the field of Arabic studies, got acquainted with the ongoing activities aimed at studying the Arabic language and culture and familiarizing the people with them. The organization operates the Arabic Language Center and the Bilkis Library. The center teaches Arabic to Hispanic youth. And in the library you can see works written in Arabic on all aspects of life. Most of these works were written and published in Spain. In addition, the organization and its representatives take part in world-class competitions and awards related to the Arabic language and the field of translation, showing high results. Rosario Carrasco Pérez, head of the organization, warmly welcomed the director of the Center and introduced him to the entire historic building. He donated books in Arabic on behalf of the institution. E. Shokay also spoke about the activities of the National University and the work of the Arab Tanu Center. They agreed to keep in touch and cooperate on common projects and effective directions in the future.
