From 19 to 22 February 2018, the 71st Interfaculty Games of basketball among girls took place in the sports complex of KazNU. 14 teams, 84 students participated in the competitions.

From 19 to 23 February 2018, the 71st Interfaculty Games of Volleyball among young men took place in the sports complex of KazNU. 14 teams, 130 students participated in the competitions.

At the Asian Championship, students and graduates of KazNU showed good results.
Gold medals were won:
1. Golendova Svetlana - 3rd year student of Faculty of Medicine, PCAS, in the 400 meters race.
2. Shynybekova Aigerim is a graduate of the master's program PCAS, in the run for 60 meters.
3. Filippov Nikita - doctoral student of the Faculty of Physics and Technology, pole vaulting.
4. Golendova Svetlana and Zyabkina Victoria (graduate of the master's degree in Physical Culture and Sport), as part of the relay team 4x400 meters.
The silver medal was won by Zyabkina Victoria in the run for 60 meters.

February 2, Ermakova Anastasia - a first-year student of the specialty "FKiS" of the medical faculty of the KazNU named after Al-Farabi, won the gold award of the Asian Winter Championships.

Students of the Faculty of International Relations of KazNU. al-Farabi, the master of sports of the international class in speed skating Fedor Mezentsev and Roman Krech won four Olympic licenses and guaranteed themselves the right to participate in the main start of the quadrennium.
