On March 29-30, 2018 in Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of al-Farabi KazNU the Republican object student’s Olympic Games in the specialty “5B072100 – ChTOS” were held. It represents the system of internal competitions of students in the specialty “5B072100 – ChTOS” higher educational institutions during which assessment of knowledge, skills of participating students is carried out and winners are defined.

On March 27-29, 2018, the teachers of the Middle East and South Asia Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Z.E. Iskakova and D.M. Kokeyeva participated in the International Conference "Global Peace and Sustainable Development through Language and Literature: Dreams & Designs" organized by the Department of Arabic, Persian, Urdu and Islamic Studies of the Faculty of Languages of the University of Visva-Bharati, which is located in the city of Santiniketan (West Bengal, India).

Scientific-Practical Conference on «Actual Issues of Preventive Vaccination Against Infectious Diseases in the RK» has began its work in Al-Farabi KazNU.

The Campus in the campus project has been existing for four years and at this semester the Department of the Far East accepts new students from the University of Tsukuba within the framework of the Cooperative Educational Program for the training of personnel in the economic and scientific fields on the multi-linguistic system in Japan, the CIS countries and the Baltic (agreement of 15 February 2015).

Department of Biostatistics and Evidence-Based Medicine from March 13 to 23, 2018, was organized for undergraduates of the specialty "Public Health" a scientific internship, who study at the Medical Faculty –KazNU named after al-Farabi. The internship was held on the basis of the Faculty of Fundamental Medicine of Moscow State University named after M. Lomonosov. Lomonosov under the program "Scientific Research in Medicine". In total, 11 undergraduates were trained.

The Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology has met with a delegation from the main restoration institute of Italy Opificho delle Pietre Dura (Florence).
