The Chairman of the Supreme Court, doctor of Law, Professor,  the President of al-Farabi KazNU Alumni Association Kairat Mami was named the best Alumni and was awarded the medal of al-Farabi KazNU "Asa kurmetti tulek".

A round table "Kazakhstan way to a nuclear-free world" with the support of the mission of the Department of public information of the UN in Kazakhstan was held at al-Farabi KazNU.  KazNU is a global hub for sustainable development initiative United Nations "Academic Impact", and is active, aimed at supporting ten internationally accepted principles of the UN relating to human rights, literacy, sustainability and conflict resolution.

A round table "The effectiveness of criminal justice as a priority direction of development of modern law enforcement system" was held       at al-Farabi KazNU with the participation of the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Mami.  

Shell Kazakhstan and KAZENERGY Association announced the winners of the Student Energy Challenge competition which took place in the framework of the IX Youth Forum under the XI Eurasian KAZENERGY Forum.

The working meeting with the delegation of the European organization for nuclear research (CERN) has taken place in al-Farabi KazNU, where the parties discussed plans of further cooperation. 

At al-Farabi KazNU was an acquaintance of freshmen with student organizations of the University.

On the cover of the latest issue (August, 2017) prestigious international science journal "Crystal Research and Technology" is a picture from the article of young scientist of our University, head of the chair of General and inorganic chemistry Bolat Uralbekov with the sponsors «Growth of the complex borates Y_xR_ySc₂+ z (BO₃)₄ (R= Nd, Pr, x+ y+ z= 2) with huntite structure».

The third year student of biological faculty of KazNU and, concurrently, a member of the exhibition EXPO-2017 Yerassyl Mirasbekov shot a promo video for the popular song by Pharrell Williams “Happy”.

The student team Space Nomads of the Faculty of Journalism of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University won an unconditional victory in the "Energy of the Future" contest for the best student video from the Canon Europe company, having won first place and a voucher worth 600,000 tenge for the purchase Canon video equipment. On September 6, the award ceremony took place in the Austrian pavilion at the International Exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana.
