International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Ahmed Yasawi 18-19 March 2015 held VII Republican Subject Olympiad among students of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan on religious studies and theology devoted to the "550 anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate." The theme of the Olympic Games, "Features of the Kazakh people of Islam."

Within the framework of the project "Initiative campus on campus" at the Department of the Far East and South Asia Faculty of Oriental Studies of KazNU, Japanese studies Week was opened, with the participation of students of the Department and the University of Tsukuba (Japan).

The students of the Tsukuba University and the students of Japanese Studies of Far Eastern and South Asian Studies at Faculty of Oriental Studies in KazNU held the International Student Forum at 6th March. The theme of the forum is “How do you learn languages?”.

International Japanese Fond is the stable partner of the Japan department Cathedra of the Far East and South Asia more than 20 years.

In Japan (Tokyo), head of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University’s academician Galym Mutanov in the framework of International Symposium "The role of universities in the age of globalization: in search of new directions" presented the internationalization experience of the leading university in Kazakhstan.

The “Volkswagen Stiftung” Fund started new international project of Scientific-Research Institute of Ecology in al-Farabi Kazakh National University at Geography Faculty and Nature Management.

The event was held in the framework of cooperation of Toshiba International Foundation and al-Farabi KazNU Far East and South Asia Department.

5^th of February 2015 at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Science of Kazakh Al-Farabi National University took place an International online seminar on "Impact of climate change on water resources" within Tempus I-WEB project «Integrating Water cycle management: building capability, capacity and impact in Education and Business» and "Green Bridge through generations" project, which was attended by scientists, doctoral and master students of the University of Leipzig (Germany), Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, K.A. Yassawi IKTU, Sh.Ualikhanov KokSU.

Department of Religious and Cultural Studies of Faculty of philosophy and political science of Al-Farabi KazNU, the Center of Religious Studies and examinations and the Institute of improvement of professional skill conducted innovative course training “Basics of Religious Studies” from January 5 to January 12 of 2015 for teachers of secondary schools with a total of 72 hours.
