Conference EXPO-2017

An international scientific-practical conference "EXPO-2017: a modernization breakthrough of Kazakhstan"  was held at  al-Farabi KazNU with participation of leading experts of the Kazakhstan Institute for strategic studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of government agencies, private companies, economists, sociologists, graduate and doctoral students.

 Welcoming the guests and participants of the conference al-Farabi KazNU rector Galym Mutanov noted that "EXPO-2017" is the greatest achievement over the years of independence of Kazakhstan and a major undertaking for the country's image on the world stage. Because today natural energy represent is the most important components of any economy, projects on green technologies at the international exhibition in Astana has caused a huge demand and increased tourism attractiveness. As it was announced, a visit to the international pavilions and facilities EXPO reached 20 million people, which points to increasing internal and external tourism. In one of these pavilions were placed nine projects developed by scientists of al-Farabi KazNU. According to the participants of the conference, today to implementation and developments presented of all projects at the exhibition have been created all conditions, and this ifact will have a positive impact not only on the status but will also bring financial benefits to the economy of the country.

It should be noted that the guests and participants of the conference visited the centre of "Green technologies" in the territory of the KazNU, which is a mini version of the exhibition. Today it is produced by wind, solar, biogas, hydrogen, geothermal energy, which is used for growing vegetables and plants in a greenhouse year-round. As Senate Deputy Serik Seidumanov said in his speech,"I am well aware of KazNU and each time I come here amazed at what enormous steps were done at the University. Once again I want to say about technology. What can we see today: the first is the situation centre, it is a new digital technology which lives in the real mode. We saw a mini-EXPO, right here are green technologies,  startups and a leisure area, which will be based on the new "green" technologies. These mean that KazNU was so interesting centre in Almaty, and now University becomes the technological heart of our city."

Today KazNU is actively working on the Eurasian platform "Green bridge through generations". Its main objective is the involvement of youth in the promotion of initiatives of the Head of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev: Global energy strategy for sustainable development in the XXI century, the partnership program "Green bridge".

Continuing the theme of green energy has been said that scholars proposed 150 scientific discoveries at the exhibition. 115 countries and 22 international organizations attended it. The number of countries participating it, this was one of the most successful in the history of exhibitions. The conference participants noted that Astana along with London, Paris, Vienna and Shanghai is becoming one of the global cities in the world. Today Astana has entered the rating "Top-21 smart cities on the planet”. Summing up, it was noted that "EXPO-2017" has become a platform for the replication of advanced technologies and knowledge, directed at the creation of "green" and sustainable future.
