In the framework of the events dedicated to the "Heritage EXPO", which is a natural continuation of the international exhibition "EXPO 2017:Energy of the future" was held a visit of akim of Almaty Baurzhan Baibek at al-Farabi KazNU.

The main topic of the meeting was discussing one of the actual topics of concern to the international community today – search for ideas and solutions on the use of alternative sources of energy, implementing the principle of "green economy".

Special attention was paid to the Centre of "green technologies", which is a city of "MINI-EXPO" and is one of the extensive and innovative projects in the field of energy conservation through the use of modern energy technologies: wind, solar, hydro and geothermal, and biogas energy. Also the hothouse complex "Plant Factory" was noted, bringing together high-tech advanced technology of agriculture, allowing urban environments to create a wide range of organic food.

In the framework of the visit there was organized the exhibition of scientific and innovative developments of scientists of KazNU, covering different areas of "green" and alternative energy. Among the most significant achievements were also presented innovative technologies and science-intensive products of the University scientists, presented in the national pavilion "Kazakhstan" during the EXPO 2017, demonstrating solutions for renewable energy such as rational use of natural gas, improving efficiency and reducing emissions of power plants, development of Autonomous solar panels and silicon solar cells to convert emitted by the Sun energy into heat and electricity.

Following the example of the development of "green" zones of KazNU by the practical implementation of renewable energy, clean technology and sustainable development shows an active implementation of "green technologies" in the economy of Almaty, which is an important contribution for the preservation of heritage “Expo-2017”.
