Students of Al-Farabi KazNU win National Robotics Championship

As the result of the first ever held National Robotics Championship among higher education institutions of the country, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University team was ranked first.

On November National championship organized under the “Digital Kazakhstan” programme took place at the AUES University, seeking to promote creative thinking among student youth's.

The competition’s tasks of varying complexity included following projects:

-         Construction of a robot to navigate a trajectory in preset time;

-         Construction of a robot to solve a small labyrinth of minor difficulty with the help of sensors in preset time;

-         Robot motion along black line obstacle course;

-         Construction of a robot to solve a big labyrinth of increased difficulty with the help of sensors in preset time;

The combined total score of Al-Farabi KazNU “Mechanics” team, consisting of Berik Sagitzhanov, Bekzat Amanov, Zamanbek Azi, Nurlanbek Nurullayev and Kuanysh Meyirbek, made it possible for the team to be ranked number one. Moreover, members of the team were awarded with certificates for half-off price for participation in Technical University of Berlin’s summer school on robotics. It should be pointed out that Berik Sagitzhanov is also holds the position of a Chairman of Al-Farabi KazNU Scientific Student Society.

This victory of the KazNU team is but a result of proper work carried out in the University on supporting talented young people and innovators. Likewise, there are student business incubators actively functioning at KazNU and the University allocates 10% of its grant funding to engage students in research projects on a fee basis. Furthermore, the University strongly supports current trends in Information Technology, robotics and digitalization.
