Welcome to “Yes I can!” club

On November 28,2018 the 1^st meeting of “Yes I can!” club was held. The club was organized on the basis of the department for foreign languages.

The name of the club is a motivational phrase and sounds very inspirational. It implies the feeling of confidence and belief in one’s own abilities, talents and potential. It is commonly known that a lack of confidence can hold people back from reaching their goal. Very often students experience problems in speaking English because of psychological barriers that may be a hindrance for them in achieving oral skills.

So, the aim of the club is to develop our students’ self confidence and belief in their own abilities and skills and to give them a chance to practice English in a relaxed, informal environment which will significantly contribute to the development of conversational, listening, reading, writing skills. We believe that in a comfortable and friendly “Yes I can” atmosphere the club members will have an excellent opportunity to express themselves creatively in English, for example, through poetry, drama, storytelling, presentations and etc. We also have plans to organize meetings with guest speakers, have discussions on various topics that students are interested in.

The club meeting will be held monthly on Tuesdays of the last week. Everyone who wants to gain self-confidence and belief in their talents, abilities and potential is welcome!
