KazNU Strengthens Position in Webometrics

According to a study of the «Webometrics» International Rating Agency, of January 2019, Al-Farabi KazNU took 2503 place among 28 thousand Universities of the world.

KazNU has showed a positive trend of progress in the ranking and fixed on the second position among the Universities of Kazakhstan. Thus, the indicator «Openness» increased by 164 points, the University is ahead of other Kazakhstani HEI’s by such indicators as «Presence» and «Impact».

The authoritative international rating «Webometrics» was founded in 2004 and every six months it analyzes the presence of Universities in the global Internet space. It evaluates University websites using the following indicators as: domain volume, availability of useful scientific and educational information for students, teachers and other users, the number of links from external resources, the citation of scientific works of scientists, the number of scientific publications, etc.

The leaders of the ranking are the Universities of the USA and the UK. First hundred group, in addition to American and British Universities, includes the leading HEI’s of China, Germany, Japan, Denmark, Switzerland, South Korea, Hong Kong, and other countries.
