Student of Al-Farabi KazNU Zhanbota Aldabergenova has brought the first medal to the Kazakhstan’s bag, by winning a bronze at the World Winter Universiade, which has been taking place in Krasnoyarsk (Russia).
Zhanbota Aldabergenova is a student of Law Faculty, she is a Master of Sport of international level in freestyle (Aerial skiing). She is the winner of the Republican and International competitions. She won 1st place at the Cup of the RK in 2011, and she won a Bronze Medal at the European Cup in Raubichi (Belarus) in 2012. And in 2014 she showed the sixth result at the Olympic Games in Sochi. In 2015, she became the Silver Medalist of the World Championship (Italy) and she has repeatedly become a prizewinner and winner of European Cups.
The XXIX World Winter Universiade has been held in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk from 2 to 12 of this year. KazNU is represented in the Winter Universiade by three students in three kinds of sports - Zhansaya Adykhanova (figure skating), Zhanbota Aldabergenova (freestyle), and Nurlybek Beyseev (short track).
The Universiade program includes competitions in the following sports: biathlon, alpine skiing, curling, skiing, skiing orientation, snowboarding, figure skating, freestyle, hockey, ice hockey, and short track.
