Do Students Need Media Literacy?

On April 3, an International Youth Online Conference entitled: «Do Students Need Media Literacy? », was held at Al-Farabi KazNU, within the framework of the VI International Farabi Readings and with the support of a joint project of the US Embassy in Kazakhstan.

Students of the M.K. Ammosov Northeastern University (Yakutsk, Russia), Faculty of Philology of the State Social-Humanitarian University (Kolomna, Russia), Akhmet Baitursynov Kostanai State University, Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan State University and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part at the Conference. As a result of the International Youth Online Conference, recommendations on media literacy training in the specialty «Journalism» have been developed. Reports of participants will be published in the collection of the VI International Farabi Readings.

The event was organized by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi KazNU Karlyga Myssaeva and Professor Galiya Ibrayeva.
