The KazNU opened the auditorium named after Gabbas Zhumatov
4/17/2019April 16, 2019 at the Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology hosted the opening ceremony for the auditorium of Gabbas Zhumatov. The opening ceremony was attended by honorary professors of the University Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor U.Kh. Shalekenov, Doctor of History, Professor A.K. Kusainov, Doctor of History, Professor T.K. Karataev, Doctor of History, Professor S.M. Mashimbaev, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor K.T. Zhumagulov, Doctor of History, Professor M.V. Puzikov, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Bostandyk District, Almaty, Kh.B. Birzhanov, a war veteran T.A. Maximov, as well as the faculty members, students and undergraduates.
During the meeting, was organized a photo exhibition, book exhibition which dedicated to the Great Patriotic War and about the hero himself. The honorary right to cut the traditional opening band of the auditorium presented itself to the chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Bostandyk District, Almaty, H.B. Birzhanov and veteran of the war TA Maksimova.
Honorary Professor of the Kazakh National University, Doctor of Historical Sciences U.Kh. Shalekenov spoke about the works of Gabbas Zhumatov, about his contribution to historical science and not only, and wished success in the future work of the faculty. And also, the rector of the Eurasian Humanities Institute, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor A.K. Kusainov, shared his memories of the main character: “He spent his entire life dedicated to the service to the motherland and made an unbearable contribution to its development. Even being retired, he felt that he could still serve his people, his native land”, - he said.
Gabbas Zhumatovich - a hero who survived the war, dedicated the last years of his life to science and public life, a sign of eternal peace and harmony.
