Meeting with Youth
4/24/2019The Chairman of the Election Commission of Almaty, Zhanna Assanova and Deputy Chairman of the Election Commission of Almaty in the Bostandyk district, Gulnar Imankulova, have met with the youth of the University at Al-Farabi KazNU.
The purpose of the meeting is to acquaint students with the order and the right to vote in presidential elections. «A citizen who has reached the age of 18, who is permanently registered, can vote, if he was not recorded. Many current students are educated and gain knowledge in their Alma Mater, but not all have complete information about the election. We came to tell and explain the electoral rights and the requirements of the law «On elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan», - said the Deputy Chairman of the Almaty Election Commission for the Bostandyk district.
If a student is not registered at the place of residence in Almaty, he may apply to the local Akimat with a statement and register at the polling station.
«Each voter has the right to register as a voter in the local executive body from the moment of announcement or appointment of elections. The reason for including a person in the voter list at a particular polling station is the fact of his registration at the place of residence (propiska). The list includes the last name, first name, patronymic, year of birth, individual identification number and address of the residence of the voter».
More information about the elections can be found on the website of Almaty Akimat and on the website of the Central Election Commission.
554 polling stations were appointed in Almaty. 20 days before the election, polling stations will begin their work. Each voter, 15 days before the election, can check themselves in the list and determine at which polling station they are registered. Information can be obtained by calling 8/727 / 224-22-22.
