The South Korean non-governmental organization «Korea YWCA» presented Hanbok national costumes to students of the Far East Department of KazNU, which amounts to five thousand US dollars.
According to representatives of the organization, for many years they have been monitoring the activities of the Department from the pages of South Korean Media. This prompted them to come to Almaty and meet with teachers and students.
Mrs. Lee Guy Ok, President of KoreaWCA, presented the elegant Korean costumes. In the course of the meeting, the ceremony of dressing in a bright national costume was demonstrated, the guests told about its traditions.
It should be noted that the «KoreaYWCA», follows the slogan «Women Changing the World», in the framework of the youth movement. They expressed a desire to cooperate with the University in the future and stated that in the next visit they intend to hand over musical instruments and dance equipment to the Department.
In turn, the students were assured that they would prepare a special presentation in costumes brought from South Korea.
