In 2019, 85 years have passed since the founding of the first University in the country - S.M. Kirov Kazakh State University (now Al-Farabi KazNU).

Being in the same vanguard of the higher education system, the University has passed a glorious path of development, and today it worthily represents Kazakhstan in well-known prestigious international scientific and educational communities. The University has a unique campus, called KazGUgrad, on the banks of the Vesnovka river, at the picturesque foot of the snow-white Zailiisky Alatau in the city of Almaty.

The rapid development of the University is associated not only with positive changes in society, but also with the activities of eminent scientists, the founders of their own scientific schools. And at the same time, with outstanding personalities who stood at the helm of the main cruiser of education and science. It would be possible to write more than one page about each of them ... If we are talking about the creation and development of a campus, then, undoubtedly, you should first of all mention the names of the rectors - A.Z. Zakarin, U.J.Dzholdasbekov ...
