8/23/2019The 15th international conference on Parallel Computing Technologies (PaCT 2019) was held from August 19 to 23 at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Kazakhstan). The conference is organized by the Institute of Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Geophysics (Russian Academy of Sciences) every two years. This year partners of the conference are Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Kazakhstan), University of International Business (Kazakhstan), Novosibirsk State University, Novosibirsk State Technical University. Conference materials are published in the Lecture Notes and Computer Science series, which are indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases.
The conference were attended by Vice-Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU A.K. Khikmetov, President of UIB Ahmed-Zaki D.Zh., Professor, Head of Laboratory of ICMaMG RAS Malyshkin V.E., representative of Springer Nature Kazakhstan Aleksandrova I.A.
Hikmetov A.K. emphasized the importance of the conference, as the industry currently needs such information technologies that allow real-time data processing. In recent years, in Al-Farabi KazNU research projects on high-performance computing are carrying out, University is training personnel capable of solving different problems on high-performance platforms.
The conference is attended by leading scientists from Austria, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Poland, Russia, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong. The conference presents the results of research in the field of parallel computing technologies, which gives a unique opportunity for teaching staff, doctoral students and undergraduates to get acquainted with advanced research in this area. A youth school is held as part of the conference, which allows undergraduates and students to gain skills in developing parallel programs. The conference also hosts a master class from Intel on processor architecture, program optimization and parallel libraries.
