The athlete performed in the category of up to 97 kilograms. In the quarter finals, he met with the strongest athletes from Mongolia, Russia and other countries. In a fight with rivals, a Kazakhstani wrestler fulfilled all qualification conditions for wrestlers and received a license to participate in the Olympic Games.
The competitions are the qualifying stage for the Olympic Games in Tokyo. As the organizers noted, the first six wrestlers in each weight category, in addition to medals, will also receive the right to participate in the 2020 Olympic Games.
The last time wrestlers were selected for the Olympics in the framework of the World Cup in Las Vegas in 2015. It is worth noting that Kazakhstan has 20 licenses in its assets.
In the capital of Kazakhstan, 108 Olympic quotas were raffled off. About a thousand athletes attended the competition from 105 countries.
