The Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology, with the support of the branch of the «Ak Zhol» Democratic Party in Almaty, as well as members of the U38 University Alliance of Ethnographers Club, rewarded young historians, who won in the competition entitled «Legacy of the Great Steppe» at the library of Al-Farabi KazNU.
The main goal of the competition is to reveal the creative abilities of students, undergraduates and doctoral students to create conditions for their intellectual potential, to develop their interest in science, to attract young scientists to solve modern problems, and to support talented and gifted youth.
The first stage of the competition was opened in June 2019 and more than 200 young scientists from all parts of Kazakhstan took part in it. According to the terms of the competition, 100 best works were selected and sent to the second stage, where each participant had to prepare a scientific project. In the final stage of the competition, the work was evaluated according to the following criteria: structure, scientific significance and novelty of the study. According to the results of the competition, the winners of the competition among young scientists, the 1st place was awarded to a 3rd year student of Al-Farabi KazNU Sarsen Bashembaev, the 2nd place was won by a 4th year student of North Kazakhstan State University named after M. Kozybaeva Gulsezim Saktagan and the 3rd place went to first-year doctoral student of Abay KazNPU Igor Krupko. Prizewinners were awarded with cash prizes and certificates.
