The Department of Middle East and South Asia of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Indian Cultural Center named after Swami Vivekananda held an online conference in honor of World Hindi Day, which was attended by teachers, as well as students, undergraduates and doctoral students of the Indian branch of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.

The conference was addressed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India, Mr. Prabhat Kumar, Director of the Indian Cultural Center Dr. Sanjay Garg, President of the Indian Chamber of Commerce Dr. Sohel Muhammad, heads of Indian companies in Kazakhstan, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Sh.E. Kanafieva, Head of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia P.M. Suleimenov, teachers of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia Z.E. Iskakova, D.N. Tairova, students of our university and Hindi language courses at the Embassy of India.

At the holiday, mutual congratulations and wishes, poems and aphorisms in Hindi sounded. Students took part in the language quiz with great interest. Department of the Middle East and South Asia KazNU named after Al-Farabi received more than 300 books in Hindi as a gift from the Indian Cultural Center.

In December 2020, at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, the program "Ar zhetide - zheti til" was launched, within the framework of which free courses on the study of oriental languages, including the Hindi language, were organized for high school students in Kazakhstan. Schoolchildren from different cities of Kazakhstan (Almaty, Aktau, Taraz, Shymkent, Kyzyl-Orda, etc.) who plan to enter the Indian department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies in the future with great pleasure are engaged in them.

Cooperation between Kazakhstan and India is carried out in various fields of science, culture, education and business. And today, as never before, specialists in Indologists are in demand - people who speak Indian languages, who study the richest culture and literature of India, who speak Kazakh, Russian, Hindi and Urdu equally fluently, are ambassadors of friendship and peaceful cooperation between Kazakhstan and India, as well as other countries. subcontinent.
