The Department of Publishing and Design of Al-Farabi KazNU in the new conditions of teaching is actively introducing interactive forms of education. For the first time on the Zoom platform, an online master class was held for future editors, publishers and designers.

A well-known publicist, journalist, editor-in-chief of the republican "Yuridicheskaya Gazeta" Bakhtiyar Tokhtakhunov held a master class.

The meeting aroused great interest of students and teachers. In an accessible and entertaining way, the speaker presented useful, professional information that for many has a powerful motivational effect. The audience got an idea of the real side of the workflow in the editorial office. A talented specialist shared his experience, answered all the students' questions. The participants liked the attitude towards novice editors and journalists, the desire to educate, support and guide them in the right direction.

Let us recall that the initiator of the creation of "Yuridicheskaya Gazeta" with the formation of sovereign Kazakhstan was the Minister of Justice of the republic Nagashbai Shaikenov. The first issue was released on November 3, 1994. Since July 2019, the chief editor of the newspaper has been Bakhtiyar Tokhtakhunov, thanks to his team, the appearance of the publication and the content has changed, the newspaper is received even in remote regions. The Yug website is also very popular. Through online meetings, students get to know media persons and learn to conduct a dialogue on an equal footing.

According to the organizers of the master class, an example from the practice of university teaching in a pandemic, thanks to online classes with the invitation of media professionals-practitioners, acquired the format of dual training - “two flavors in one bottle”, where theory and practice complemented each other in order to effectively help students to immerse themselves in the realities of complex editorial work. And the recording of the event will serve as a teaching aid, it has already been copied by the students.
