Leading researcher of the Research Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Mechanics Erzhan Kelesovich Belyaev, according to the results of the expert commission's assessment, became the winner of the Postdoc research grant competition of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is the first university in Kazakhstan to open a postdoctoral program.This important step is aimed at further transforming the university into a world-class advanced research university and increasing the competitiveness of Kazakhstani science in the global scientific and educational community.

The winner of the competition, PhD Yerzhan Kelesovich Belyaev is a graduate of the Department of Mechanics, actively engaged in research activities in the field of renewable energy sources.

The main purpose of the postdoctoral program at KazNU named after al-Farabi is an intensified and concentrated work on research in the field of renewable energy technologies, in particular, solar thermal energy, heat pump technologies, desalination plants. Improving publication quality in rating journals with a high impact factor, preparation doctoral students and undergraduates, opening a laboratory for this direction, strengthening international cooperation by filing joint research projects. Reinforced work on implementation of an interdisciplinary approach involving various stakeholders (universities, business, ministries and departments, associations, etc.). Search for renewable energy technologies for further commercialization, conducting a feasibility study and market overview. Publication of review scientific articles in rating analytical reviewers. Mathematical and numerical modeling of physical processes in renewable energy systems using our own computer algorithms and licensed software. Patenting, standardization and certification.
