Rector met with aksakals

Zhanseit Tuymebayev, Chairman of the Board-Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU met with veterans and aksakals of the university. During the meeting, the topical issues of the university development were discussed.

Warmly welcoming the participants of the meeting, Zhanseit Tuymebayev noted that for him KazNU is associated with his wonderful student years, he obtained his academic and professional qualifications on the Faculty of Philology. Here, he began his path of a scholar and is excited to return to his team.

The rector noted, that becoming the head of the leading university of the country, he feels an exceptional responsibility for its fate and further development. He outlined that priority areas are to improve the quality of education, social support for teachers, development of infrastructure, expanding international cooperation, integration of scientific developments into actual production.

According to the rector, the main value of KazNU is in its teaching staff and scientists, who educate and train the younger generation and make a real contribution to the development of the country. The mission of the management and administrative staff is to improve the well-being of employees and create the necessary comfortable conditions of work.

It is worth noting that following the instructions of the President Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, the first order of the Rector Zhanseit Tuymebayev was to increase the salary of all university staff by 20 percent. He also informed aksakals that more than 2 thousand teachers and staff are in need of housing; thereby he negotiated with with the mayor of Almaty and with the management of a number of banks to find ways to solve this pressing issue.

The veteran teachers of the university, professors and academicians warmly greeted the rector Zhanseit Tuymebayev, expressed their hope that under his leadership KazNU will show a new impulse of development, strengthen the status of the country's leading university and take its rightful place in the world scientific and educational community.

«Not just a rector, but a great scholar, who is engaged in Turkology – an essential and complex area of linguistics, has come to lead our university,» professor Eleonora Suleimenova noted. «The veterans of KazNU gathered here today. Everyone is worried, rooting for our university. We have marvelous teachers! The main thing is that we are confident in the bright perspectives of our university under your leadership.»

During the meeting, the participants talked about anguishing issues and problems that require solutions, offered specific proposals regarding the improvement of the educational process, development of research activities, provision of laboratories and research centers with modern equipment, necessary conditions and attraction foreign students, support of young scientists and others.

«You are the golden fund of KazNU, we are proud of you and we deeply appreciate you. From each of you I expect suggestions for enhancing the work of the university and possible ways of resolving our issues. My doors are always open for you! This meeting is the first, but not the last, we will periodically meet and discuss problems together. As a team, we will achieve a lot, a real renovation and transformation of the university,» the rector noted addressing the aksakals.

At the end of the event, the rector thanked the participants of the meeting for their concern, acceptance of the invitation, and expression of their readiness to actively contribute to the development of the university.
