The Muhammad Ali Jinnah Center at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was officially opened on July 9, 2019 with the financial support of the KAZ-PAK Association. March 10, 2021 the Muhammad Ali Jinnah Center was renovated with the direct support of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, supplemented with technical and educational materials in a modern innovative format.

Military Attaché to the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Yasir Janjua, Adviser on Trade and Investment of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Almaty Muhammad Farooq, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Pakistan Muhammad Rafiq, President of the KAZ-PAK Association Habib ur Rahman and guests of the event were invited as guests. Pakistani citizens living in Almaty, some teachers and doctoral students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies took part in it.

During the meeting, it was noted that the historical, cultural and linguistic ties between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan have been strengthened in the diplomatic, trade, economic, educational spheres since the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

All participants expressed confidence that the Muhammad Ali Jinnah Center will serve to enhance cultural cooperation and strengthen friendly relations between the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, the dean of the faculty Yktiyar Paltore thanked for the support in equipping the center with modern requirements. The Pakistani guests were thanked on behalf of the university administration and staff and presented with memorable gifts.

PS: The establishment of diplomatic and consular relations during the official visit of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on February 24, 1992 was an important step in the opening of the Urdu Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at KazNU. prepared. Currently, 15 students study Urdu at the faculty. It is planned that in the near future students and teachers of Urdu division will go to Pakistan for language practice.
