OPENING OF A BRANCH IN THE STATE HISTORICAL, CULTURAL AND NATURAL MUSEUM - RESERVE "TANBALY"

As part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Independence in the State Historical, Cultural and Natural Museum-Reserve "Tanbaly", a branch of the Department of Archeology, Ethnology and Museology of KazNU named after al-Farabi.

The Tanbaly Museum-Reserve is located in the Zhambyl district of the Almaty region, 170 km north-west of the city of Almaty, 4 km north-west of the village of Karabastau. Tanbaly is a unique object under the protection of UNESCO, which includes more than a hundred monuments and about 3000 rock carvings of different times.

Joint work of the museum and the Kazakh National University. al-Farabi will be of great importance in the training of specialists - archaeologists, ethnologists and museum scholars. To improve the quality of training young specialists, the museum will host practical training, conferences, research projects, seminars on topical topics, classes to hone skills, trainings, etc.

The opening of a branch of the Department of Archeology, Ethnology and Museology in the Tanbaly Museum-Reserve provides joint research work on the study of archaeological sites of different eras, also provides an opportunity to study the petroglyphs of the Tanbaly gorge, reconstruct the historical, cultural and paleoecological state of rock carvings.
