VACCINATION OF EMPLOYEES STARTED IN THE KAZNU
4/5/2021The faculty and staff of Al-Farabi KazNU actively participated in the process of mass vaccination. The Russian vaccine Sputnik V is being vaccinated at the university.
The KazNU team responded to the call of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym - Zhomart Tokayev to be vaccinated against the coronavirus, thereby fulfilling their civic duty.
One of the first vaccinations against Covid-19 was made by the executive director of the Alumni Association of KazNU. al-Farabi Kulgazira Baltabaev. “I read the message about the start of vaccination and, without hesitation, asked to be included in the list,” said an active supporter of the vaccination campaign. - This is a deliberate and extremely important step in order to prevent the disease. I gained confidence in vaccinations when I got the flu shot and avoided getting it during the flu season. I made the decision to vaccinate not only for myself, but also for the health and life of my loved ones. "
Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Natural Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Acting the first vice-rector of KazNU Kanatbek Mukanov urged all Kazakhstanis not to give up vaccinations. “Now the opinions in the society are divided, and the question is being asked - should I or should I not be vaccinated? The answer is to do it! There is simply no alternative to this solution. I have done research on the effectiveness of vaccines in the history of medicine. The vaccine is the fruit of innovative ideas in the field of medicine. You don't need to pay attention to the various fake news that have flooded social networks. It was vaccination that at one time saved humanity from smallpox, plague and other severe epidemics. Therefore, I appeal to all citizens - if there is an opportunity, you need to get vaccinated. First of all, you need to think not about yourself, but about protecting the health of your loved ones. We need vaccination with you! ”K. Mukanov expressed his opinion.
Acting Vice-Rector of KazNU Mehmet Arslan emphasized that the decision to be vaccinated is a responsible step, which speaks of a person's maturity. “I often go on business trips, where I often meet people, spend time surrounded by colleagues, realizing that I am also responsible for their safety. Therefore, I immediately decided to get vaccinated and I advise not to postpone this decision, using the opportunity provided by the state, both for students and teachers, since work at a university is connected with people. "
50 pieces of vaccines were transferred to the medical center of KazNU. For the next stream, 600 vaccinations will be given. Full coverage of volunteers with vaccinations is planned.
It should be noted that Sputnik V is one of the first three registered vaccines in the world with an efficiency of over 90%. According to the test results, in which 19,866 volunteers participated, its effectiveness was 91.6%. Kazakhstan is the 27th country in the world to use this vaccine. Vaccination of citizens against coronavirus infection began in the country on February 1.
The vaccine "Gam-COVID-Vak" or "Sputnik V", developed by the Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after Nikolai Gamaley, is administered twice with an interval of three weeks to enhance the immune response. At the first stage, a vaccine is introduced based on 26 adenovirus serotypes, at the second - 5 serotypes. Vaccinations are voluntary. Every citizen has the right to choose. A voluntary decision to vaccinate is currently the only way to prevent the disease.
