THE SPECIALTY "NEUROSCIENCE" IS OPENED IN THE KAZNU

Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with world famous scientist, professor in the field of neuroscience Bazbek Davletov, professor at Sheffield University, honorary neuroscientist of Great Britain.

During the event, important aspects of close cooperation were discussed in connection with the creation of a new direction of "neuroscience" at the university. This specialty will be taught for the first time in the country and throughout the Central Asian region.

During the meeting, the head of the university, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, noted the importance of attracting the best foreign scientists for the development of the country's science, stressing that the state is taking appropriate measures in this direction. “You have gained tremendous experience while studying and working at such universities as: Moscow State University. Lomonosov, University of Texas, University of Cambridge. It is very important that you have the opportunity to work with world-class scientists. Your knowledge and experience in such a complex discipline as neuroscience is invaluable, ”said the rector. He also expressed his readiness to create all the necessary conditions for work and equip a new scientific laboratory.

The consent of Professor B. Davletov to work at KazNU is a great honor for the university. This cooperation involves the development of such areas as: training specialists in neuroscience; joint training of PhD doctors in relevant areas; assistance in student exchange, internships for undergraduates and doctoral students at the universities of Sheffield, Cambridge; preparation of joint educational projects with a promising opportunity to enter a two-degree program.

In turn, B. Davletov expressed great interest in opening a new specialty "neuroscience". The scientist also showed interest in the current research of the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience and the current project "MRI / EEG studies of brain development, emotional-cognitive functions and their genetic markers in different age groups" (supervisor AM Kustubaeva).

During the meeting, issues of joint preparation of new research projects, as well as publication of research results in scientific journals with a high impact factor were also discussed.
