KAZNU VOLLEYBALL TEAM WINS XI SUMMER UNIVERSIADE

According to the results of volleyball competitions in the framework of the XI Summer Universiade among the universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the team of KazNU named after S. Al-Farabi in men's volleyball in Turkestan. The winners were congratulated by the Chairman of the Board - Rector of the University Zhanseit Tuimebayev.

Battles of chance on the sports fields of the Universiade lasted from 12 to 19 May. The strongest teams from 10 universities of the country took part in the competition. The jury summed up the results, according to which the prizes were distributed as follows: the 1st place was taken by the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, the 2nd - by the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after K. Yassaui, and the team of Kyzylorda State University became the owners of the honorable 3rd place named after Korkyt ata.

The head of the university, Zhanseit Kanseitovich Tuimebayev, congratulated the athletes and the team's mentor - the honored coach of the Kazakh SSR Viktor Sergeevich Zhuravlev - with a wonderful victory in the XI-year Universiade of universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, wishing them further success and new victories in sports and studies!

Today the women's volleyball tournament has ended among six teams of universities in Almaty and Taldykorgan. The first place was won by the team of KazNU, which defeated the women's volleyball team of the I. Zhansugurov Taldykorgan University.
