RELIGIOUS LITERACY IS A KEY TO SECURITY

Chairman of the Board - Rector of KazNU named after Al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with the Rector of the Moscow Islamic Institute, First Deputy Chairman of the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of the Russian Federation Damir Mukhetdinov. During the conversation, the parties discussed areas of long-term cooperation and partnership.

During the talks, the head of the university touched upon topical issues in the field of religion. As a prominent statesman, he shared his experience of interfaith and intercivilizational dialogue and stressed the importance of work on religious education.

The Rector of KazNU also noted that the Department of Religious Studies and Culturology functions at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of the University, which has great potential for cooperation in the field of culture, science and education.

 

The distinguished guest, in turn, spoke about the peacekeeping activities of the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of the Russian Federation. Speaking about measures to prevent religious extremism and fight terrorism, Damir Mukhetdinov expressed his intention to continue joint work to improve the religious literacy of young people.

 

It is worth noting that today the rector of the Moscow Islamic Institute, within the framework of the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, delivered a public lecture to the teachers and students of KazNU.

At the meeting, they discussed the features of religion and traditions, as well as ways of spiritual and moral education of young people.
