THE MAIN DIRECTION IN DEVELOPMENT IS SYSTEM EDUCATION

At the online meeting of the Academic Council of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the main strategic directions for the development of KazNU for 2021-2025 were discussed.

Director of the Center for Strategic Development Gulsharat Minazheva made a report on the main topic of the meeting.

Today, the main strategic goal of the university is to train highly qualified specialists who are competitive in the domestic and international labor markets. The basis for this is world-class educational programs developed on the basis of the integration of science, education and innovation. At the same time, the priority areas of the university development program are: academic leadership and improving the quality of human capital; improving the scientific and intellectual ecosystem; creation of a progressive environment for the value development of students; development of corporate governance and human resources; digital transformation and implementation of smart technologies; economic growth and infrastructure; global partnership and sustainable development.

In her speech, Gulsharat Minazheva noted the need for comprehensive cooperation with foreign universities, assistance in creating an educational hub in the Republic of Kazakhstan. On the global agenda of the university, there are issues of developing the export of educational services and products, international recognition and the development of an integration model for the accelerated development of the university as a world-class research university. In this regard, the director Gulsharat Minazheva acquainted the vice-rectors of KazNU with the draft resolution on the approval of the development program of KazNU for 2021-2025 in the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan; development of a roadmap for the implementation of the development program for 2021-2025; providing the necessary resources and monitoring the implementation of the roadmap.

Further, the executive secretary of the selection committee, Zharylkasyn Zhappasov, reported on measures to ensure the reception of a high-quality contingent for the new 2021-2022 academic year. This year, threshold points from 70 to 110 for admission to the bachelor's program on an educational grant are set. There are benefits for admission of prize-winners of Olympiads, winners of international competitions. In addition, it is planned to attract graduates of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School to bachelor's programs for individual educational programs, and graduates of regional universities for master's and doctoral studies. Applications for training are accepted for bachelor's degree - from May 1 to June 30, master's degree - from June 1 to July 15, doctoral studies - from July 3 to August 3, 2021. In addition, the executive secretary of the selection committee gave an individual overview of the areas in which the conditions for the creative exam, the procedure for admitting foreign applicants, the plan of the selection committee and other requirements of the current year were changed.

In addition, the focus of the online meeting participants was: the rules for admission on a competitive basis of the teaching staff, scientists of the NJSC "Al-Farabi Kazakh National University", the organization of student construction teams, the opening of branches of the university on the territory of other states and others. ...
