Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Elsevier have been strategic partners for 10 years. The most famous product of one of the largest publishing houses in the world, which publishes more than 2,000 scientific journals, is the world's largest database of scientific abstracts and citations Scopus, which indexes 24 thousand scientific publications. It is one of the main sources for obtaining scientometric data for evaluating research at the state or corporate level in many countries of the world.

Welcoming the honored guest, the Chairman of the Board - Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev emphasized the importance of the long-term fruitful cooperation of the university with the Elsevier company. Successfully advancing in world rankings and taking a course towards transformation into a world-class research university, the university is interested in high rates of scientific publications and citation in the Scopus database. Moreover, every fifth article published by Kazakhstani authors in the rating journals included in Scopus belongs to the scientists of KazNU.

Thanking the company's management for the high assessment of the achievements of KazNU, the rector Zh.Tuimebayev expressed confidence in the successful continuation of cooperation and the implementation of joint projects.

In turn, Mr. Damir Rakhmetov in his speech expressed interest in the implementation of joint projects and cooperation with the leading university in Kazakhstan, which, in his opinion, has great prospects. At the meeting, the head of the region said that today the company expanded its scope of activities and switched to an information analysis system. He also informed about the current indicators of the university in terms of the number of scientific publications and noted the readiness to work in specific areas.
