In the department of Japanese studies at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of KazNU, the organization of "summer" and "winter" schools for students of partner universities in Japan has become a good tradition. In the context of a global pandemic, they are held online. The signed cooperation agreement between universities allows universities to exchange scientific and educational services, as well as share experience on research projects in the humanities and social sciences, as well as methods for studying the Japanese language.
This time, students of the University of Tsukuba studied under the program "Regional Studies. Language, history and culture of Central Asia ”. The main coordinator of the summer school was the senior lecturer of the department, Ph.D. Zh.E. Ashinova.
For two weeks, Japanese students studied the topics: "Kazakhstan's policy in Central Asia", "Policy reforms in Central Asia at the end of the 20th century", "The economic situation in Central Asia at the end of the 20th century, the impact of the global crisis", "Diplomatic relations of Kazakhstan with Central Asia "," Similarities of the Kazakh and Japanese languages "," The concept of happiness in the Japanese linguistic culture ", etc.

It should be noted that every year the demand for lectures by teachers of Japanese studies is growing. Currently, it is planned to organize a number of lectures not only at the University of Tsukuba, but also in other universities of the Land of the Rising Sun.
According to students from Japan, the KazNU lecturers left the most vivid impressions, and many of them expressed a desire to come to Kazakhstan next year. The students also got acquainted with the national traditions and customs of the Kazakhs.
