"QAZAQ UNIVERSITETI" AT THE TOP

7/9/2021

An employee of Al-Farabi KazNU Doszhan Balabekuly took part in the ascent to the top of Nursultan. This is his second attempt to conquer the peak. The first time he climbed to the top was six years ago.

This year, due to bad weather conditions, 200 meters were not enough to reach the peak, while the participants of the ascent covered most of the climbing route on foot.

On account of Doszhan Balabekuly - the peaks Nursultan, K. Satpayev, Zhastar, Kumbel, Shymbulak, Nayzakara, Turist, Titov and others. As the first height this year he chose Nursultan peak, dedicating his ascent to the 30th anniversary of the country's independence. In addition, this peak is considered the starting point of national mountaineering, so Doszhan chose this four-thousander, deciding not to deviate from the goal this year.

It was not an easy climb. It rained all night, creating great difficulties for overcoming the Bogdanovich glacier, and this is the only way to the pass. The members of the expedition experienced many difficulties, which were created by sleet, fog and rainy weather. But the climbers stubbornly walked until the ascent was completed due to a sharp deterioration in weather conditions at an altitude of 4000 meters. But even the fact that we managed to get to the Komsomolsky pass and climb further several meters can be regarded as a great achievement.

Doszhan was photographed at the top with the newspaper “Qazaq universiteti”. The journalist, photographer and teacher of Al-Farabi KazNU Doszhan Bolabekuly filled this memorable frame with a symbolic meaning, wishing that his favorite newspaper was always at its best.
