The staff of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University received with great enthusiasm the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.Zh. Tokayev to the people of Kazakhstan "The unity of the people and systemic reforms are a solid basis for the country's prosperity."

Heads of departments, teachers, students, management and deans of faculties listened to the annual speech simultaneously at three points on the campus and unanimously supported the main priority goals and objectives of the socio-economic development of the state outlined by the President for the coming period. Speaking out plans for the country's long-term development in various areas, the President highlighted the spheres of education and science. According to the Head of State, universities should be responsible for the proper training of personnel, it is necessary to consider extending the term of grant funding for science up to five years.

In his speech, the President of Kazakhstan set tasks for digitalization. “Within the framework of the National Digitalization Project, it is necessary to train at least 100 thousand highly qualified IT specialists,” K. Tokayev said.

To resolve all issues, cardinal decisions and actions are needed as soon as possible.

The KazNU team supports the President's proposal to revise the level of the minimum wage and to increase it annually for public sector employees by 20% until 2025, and these are topical issues of the present time.

Speaking with the Address at a joint meeting of the Chambers of Parliament, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.K. Tokayev recalled that the minimum wage has not increased since 2018. “The global coronavirus crisis has increased the pressure on the incomes of the population. In addition, in terms of the minimum wage, Kazakhstan is inferior to a number of CIS countries, so I make a decision - from January 1, 2022, to increase the minimum wage from the current 42.5 thousand to 60 thousand tenge. This measure will directly affect more than one million people, and indirectly all workers, ”concluded the Head of State.

Also, the President of the country focused on the Kazakhstani vaccine against coronavirus. “Kazakhstan is one of the few countries in the world that has developed a vaccine against coronavirus. There is no doubt that the domestic vaccine against the QazVac coronavirus is effective and safe, ”said the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

It should be noted that specialists and scientists of KazNU, as part of the working group of the Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, participated as experts in the preparation of documents for the WHO certification of the Kazakh vaccine "QazCovid-19". The Head of State also raised the issue of allowing the transfer of pension savings to the deposits of Otbasy Bank. This decision will also be a good support for families who plan to get housing under state programs.

In his speech, the President paid close attention to the need to improve the quality of life of the citizens of Kazakhstan, set specific tasks and proposed relevant ways to solve them.

Rector of KazNU Zh.Tuimebayev, summing up the results of the discussion, noted that every effort will be made to implement the new Message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.K. Tokayev, especially in organizing the educational process and all areas of the university.
