THE SUNSENED EPOS "KOROGLY" TRANSLATED INTO TURKISH LANGUAGE

In honor of the 30th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan and the 175th anniversary of Zhambyl Zhabayev, the presentation of the epic "Korogly", translated into Turkish, took place in Ankara.

The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Turkey has initiated a solemn event within the framework of the XVI International Book Exhibition in Ankara. The publication of the collection was supported by the Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi and Bengu publishing house at the Eurasian Writers' Union.

In the preface to the book, the Chairman of the Board - Rector of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuymebayev says that Zhambyl Zhabayev in his works captured a whole epoch in the history of Kazakhstan, which he himself witnessed. His poems reflected the breath of that time, lived and felt by the outstanding Kazakh akyn.

The preface says that in 1938, in honor of the 75th anniversary of the poet's work, representatives of the world intelligentsia - Martin Andersen-Nexe, Romain Rolland, Henri Barbusse and Rabindranath Tagore - sent congratulations, calling Zhambyl "Homer of the 20th century," byterek of folk poetry ". The people should be proud of such a creator who glorifies the sorrow and the lofty dream of their native people and brought innovation to the oratory.

At the same time, introducing to Turkish readers the poet who performed not only his works, but also the poems and aitys of his predecessors, the author expressed confidence that the poem “Korogly” preserved in Zhambyl's memory will become an irreplaceable treasure included in the literature of the Turkic world.

The event, which was attended by Turkish poets and writers, was opened by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Turkey Abzal Saparbekuly, who said that the collection included a version of the epic Zhambyl Zhabayev common for the Turkic peoples.

Zhambyl Zhabayev said: "My spiritual mentor is Suyunbai, I bow before the brilliance of his words." The spiritual mentor of Zhambyl Suyunbay Aronuly is also honored in Turkey, a park has been opened here and a monument has been erected, a street near Tastugur was named after Zhambyl. It was also noted that scientific conferences dedicated to the works of the two giants are held annually on an ongoing basis.

 

And the chairman of the Union of Eurasian Writers Yakup Omeroglu revealed the role of Zhambyl Zhabayev in his life, in Kazakh literature and the spirituality of the nation, stressing that the Zhambyl version is an innovation introduced to the culture of the Turkic world. The laureate of the International Prize "Alash", writer Nurgali Oraz and professor of the University of Pamukkale Nergiz Birai wished success in popularizing the new version of the epic "Koroghlu" in Turkish.

Writer-translator Malik Otarbayev noted that within the framework of the Turkestan Declaration adopted by the presidents of the Turkic countries, the translation of the poem "Korogly" is expedient and of great importance. In conclusion, he expressed gratitude to the organizers and supporters for the fact that Turkey celebrated the anniversary of the great man who was connected with the people of this country by spiritual kinship.
