RESULTS OF PRODUCTIVE COOPERATION

Today, the Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi was visited by a military delegation led by Major General Majid Jihangir, Director General for External Military Cooperation of the Pakistan Joint Staff. As part of an official visit to Almaty, the military leaders visited the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University, where they got acquainted with the work of the Muhammad Ali Jinn Center.

The honored guests met with professors and students of the faculty while visiting the Center of Muhammad Ali Jinn, a famous Muslim politician, founder of the national statehood of Pakistan. Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Yktiyar Paltore noted that the university administration pays special attention to cooperation and focused on the work being carried out in this direction. In April of this year, a group of teachers and students from the Department of the Middle East and South Asia was sent to refresher courses at the National University of Modern Languages, located in Islamabad. Currently, more than 10 students are studying Urdu language and literature at the Faculty of Oriental Studies.

The specialty "Language and Urdu Literature" at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of KazNU was opened in 1992. Since then, more than 50 specialists in this area have been trained. With the support of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Kazakhstan, in 2019, the "Muhammad Ali Jinnah" Center was opened at the faculty and is successfully operating. In addition, the dean of the faculty noted that this year, with the support of the Pakistani side, the center is equipped with modern technical and teaching aids.

The Pakistani military, in turn, thanked the representatives of the university for their hospitality and wished to strengthen friendly relations between Kazakhstan and Pakistan, relations in the field of education and science, culture. Also at the meeting, students read poems for the guests and sang the song "Ajeebdaastaan" in Urdu, exchanged views on their visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The delegation included: Defense Attaché of the Pakistani Embassy in Kazakhstan, Brigadier-General Yasser Nawaz, Deputy Director for External Military Cooperation of the Joint Staff of Pakistan, Colonel Farrukh Aslam, Deputy Director for External Military Cooperation of the General Staff of Pakistan, Colonel Shiraz Khadim, Headquarters Officer for external military cooperation of the General Staff of Pakistan, Major Naoman Nazir, Counselor for Trade and Investment of the Pakistani Embassy in Kazakhstan, Mr. Muhammad Faruk. The event was initiated by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
