The system of material incentives for student volunteers has been introduced in Kazakhstan. Now students who are actively involved in volunteering will receive monetary rewards for their work and efforts. They can also be credited with academic credits. The relevant norms have been introduced by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
This solution is intended to increase the number of active students engaged in socially significant activities. For example, such as helping those in need, the implementation of various social projects, etc.
“The Ministry pays special attention to youth initiatives and supports their undertakings. For example, now, for 20 hours of volunteering, students are given a loan in the form of a voucher. It allows you to offset two academic credits (hours) at the university / educational institution where the student is studying. He will also receive a one-time cash payment in the amount of 20,000 tenge. If a student has worked 50 hours, then he will be credited with five academic credits (hours) and paid 50,000 tenge, ”said Askar Ibraimov, Chairman of the Board of JSC“ Financial Center ”of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Note that payments to student volunteers are provided for tutoring in teaching languages and computer literacy, for working with children with special educational needs, for organizing courtyard and sports clubs, for social work with children, the elderly and people with disabilities, for protection activities, environment and more.
The introduction of a system of incentives for student volunteers is one of the incentives for the development of social responsibility of youth and the promotion of the volunteer movement in Kazakhstan.
