50 BEST SCIENTISTS OF KAZAKHSTAN WILL RECEIVE 6 MILLION TENGE IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE BEST SCIENTIFIC WORKER COMPETITION

50 best scientists of Kazakhstan will receive 6 million tenge each. Monetary awards will be awarded based on the results of the Republican competition "The Best Scientist". This is the first large-scale award aimed at supporting scientists. Acceptance of applications started on November 15.

The purpose of the competition is to encourage the work of scientists and scientific workers who have made a significant contribution to the development of domestic science.

“At present, a new qualitative stage of development is being observed in domestic science. The developments of our scientists enter the world market. Only recently we reported that 14 Kazakhstani scientific developments are exported to China, Russia, Turkey, Georgia, Czech Republic and Kyrgyzstan. On behalf of the Head of State, the Ministry of Education and Science focuses on issues of comprehensive support for scientists and employees of scientific organizations, organizations of higher and postgraduate education. Measures have been developed and are being implemented to stimulate Kazakhstani scientists and increase the prestige of scientific activity. This year, the ministry will award 50 prizes to the country's best scientists for the first time. Each of them will receive a remuneration of about 6 million tenge. All criteria for evaluating scientific achievements were developed in cooperation with the scientific and expert community. The competition commission included leading scientists of the country in various fields, representatives of scientific public associations, ”said Zhanna Kurmangaliyeva, Chair of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 Applications for participation in the competition are accepted through the information system of the ministry https://universitycontest.iac.kz/bestresearcher/ in electronic format until December 15. The scientific achievements of applicants for the award will be evaluated according to such criteria as the availability of an academic degree, academic title, scientific publications, monographs, management of scientific projects and programs. At the same time, it is compulsory to teach at least one discipline at the university in the last year, as well as the preparation of a PhD in the last 3 years and participation in the work of advisory bodies on science. Also, the participants of the competition must submit the results of the introduction of scientific developments into production.
