ZHAMBYL’S WEEK OPENED IN THE KAZNU

Today, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the grand opening of the thematic week dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence and the 175th anniversary of the birth of Zhambyl Zhabayev.

The event began with the traveling exhibition "The World of Zhambyl" of the Al-Farabi library and the museums of Zhambyl and Suyunbai, in which the works, books and paintings of the poet are presented.

Advisor to the rector of the university Malik Otarbayev opened the event and conveyed words of congratulations on the opening of the Zhambyl Week to the Chairman of the Board - Rector of KazNU named after Al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuymebayev.

“This year, on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the poet, a ten-volume collection was published in KazNU with the participation of the Zhambyl Research Center. Compiled by Nagashybek Kapalbekuly, a zhambyloved expert. In addition, in order to popularize the heritage of Zhambyl, another ten-volume edition is being prepared. The four-volume collection has already been published by the famous scientist Zhangara Dadebaev. And such scientific research will be continued, ”the adviser said.

The writer Nagashybek Kapalbekuly, speaking of the poet's individuality, drew attention to the fact that Zhambyl's wisdom is contained in his poetic gifts and verses, which have been translated into 160 languages ​​of the world.

Speaking in detail about the work done to popularize the heritage of Zhambyl, the head of the university, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, said that during the years of his ambassadorial service in Turkey, projects such as the naming of Zhambyl, the installation and opening of a monument to Suyunbai in Ankara and the publication of books of Kazakh akyns in Turkish were initiated language.

Also, within the framework of the opening of the Zhambyl Week, a presentation of the "Koroghlu" saga, translated into Turkish, took place. The collection, which included the works of Zhambyl Zhabayev, bringing together the Turkic peoples, was published with the support of Al-Farabi KazNU and the Bengu Publishing House of the Eurasian Union of Writers. The translation was carried out by the writer Malik Otarbayev.

The preface to the book was written by the rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev. It tells how Zhambyl Zhabayev vividly reflected the breath of time in his poems. In addition, the author of the foreword expressed confidence that the poem "Koroghlu" will become an irreplaceable treasure included in the literature of the Turkic world.

The writer Nurgali Oraz spoke at the event, noting that the presentation of the collection took place recently at the XVI International Book Fair in Ankara.
