THE HOLIDAY OF INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATED AT THE KAZNU

A solemn meeting dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the country's independence was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The festive event was attended by state and public figures, representatives of the intelligentsia and the media, faculty and students.

Opening the meeting, the Chairman of the Board - Rector of KazNU named after Al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuymebaev made a welcoming speech. The head of the university congratulated everyone on the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and noted that within the framework of the anniversary, in order to reveal the outstanding merits of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev in the history of Independence and the formation of Kazakhstan, familiarizing young people with patriotism, honoring historical values, the university organized a number of events.

“In particular, the Elbasy Park and the Garden of Scientists have been opened on the territory of the university, where more than 1000 seedlings have been planted. Leadership lectures were held for outstanding personalities, our graduates who made a significant contribution to the development of our state, the development of national education and science. Ex-President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gul visited KazNU and held a meeting with teachers and students. In connection with the 175th anniversary of Zhambyl Zhabayev, spiritual and cultural events were held within the walls of the university. Only last week, the results of the decade "Independence is the most valuable", organized in honor of the 30th anniversary of independence and the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, were summed up. As part of this large-scale event, teachers and students visited the historical and cultural center of the First President "Atameken" in the village of Shamalgan, "Zhanseit Tuymebaev emphasized in his speech.

During the festive meeting, an award ceremony was held for the faculty and the best employees. More than 70 university employees were awarded medals and certificates. In particular, the big gold medal "For special services to KazNU named after Al-Farabi", the silver medal "For special services to KazNU named after Al-Farabi", the university medal "EREN ENBEGI USHIN", the gold medal "Birlik" diploma of the Chairman of the Board - Rector of KazNU named after Al-Farabi.

In addition, the event summed up the results of the university's work for the current year. According to Zhanseit Tuymebaev, 119 new educational programs were opened in the new academic year. Today, the university is undergoing a major overhaul of educational buildings and dormitories. This year, the salaries of all employees have doubled. Now the teacher receives - 285 thousand, the senior teacher - 312 thousand, associate professor - 389 thousand, professor - 500 thousand tenge.

The solemn event continued with a festive concert program with the participation of Kazakh pop stars and talented university students.

At the end, those who had gathered together in chorus sang a patriotic song "Men Kazakpyn!"

It is worth noting that within the framework of the meeting in the foyer of the Palace of Students named after U. A. Zholdasbekov, a photo and book exhibition "30 years of Independence of Kazakhstan" was organized.
