KAZNU GRADUATES TO PERFORM AT THE OLYMPIAD

The opening ceremony of the 24th Winter Olympic Games will take place in Beijing today. Among the 34 athletes representing the country at the competitions are graduates of Al-Farabi KazNU.

Zhanbota Aldabergenova, a graduate of the Faculty of Law of KazNU, will represent our country in freestyle acrobatic competitions at the Olympics. The Kazakh athlete is a multiple winner of the European Cup stages and a two-time absolute European champion. Zhanbota is a winner of several stages of the World Cup, a participant in two Olympic Games (Sochi-2014 - 6th place and Pyeongchang-2018 -13th place).

And the graduate of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of KazNU in 2019, Dmitry Morozov, will take part in speed skating competitions. The representative of the Kazakh team has already managed to achieve excellent performance in sports. Last year, Dmitry won a gold medal in the 1500 meters at the Four Continents Speed Skating Championships.

It should be noted that in 2020 at the Olympics in Tokyo, freestyle wrestling graduates Yeldos Smetov and Nurislam Sanaev, a student of the Faculty of Medicine Igor Son won bronze medals of the competition. Also, 3rd year student Nurdaulet Zhumagali won a bronze medal in the 100m breaststroke at the Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo.
