FRUITFUL MEETING

The Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a meeting with representatives of "Tengizchevroil", as a result of which the parties agreed on cooperation, joint development of educational programmes and textbooks. 

The Faculty of Journalism at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Tengizchevroil LLP have a fruitful cooperation in the field of education. The UNESCO Department of Journalism and Communication organized the meeting, which was attended by representatives of the company's public relations department and the government.

 
Tengizchevroil representatives shared their views on conducting joint research and projects and updating and improving educational programmes. They took into account the needs of production to improve the quality of graduates in the university's specialties. They also made suggestions concerning the improvement of teachers' qualification, educational and practical training of students.


Rzabek Artygaliev, General Manager of Government and Public Relations, Aset Kurmanbaev, General Manager of Legal Department, Svetlana Kayyrgalieva, Raushan Naizabaeva, as well as Dean of Journalism Department, Sansyzbay Madiev and Nazgul Shyngysova, Head of UNESCO Journalism and Communication Department took part in the meeting. For their part, they spoke of the need for joint efforts to develop ties between higher education and industry.


Students were able to put questions to representatives of the company, which eventually led to future joint projects. In addition, further plans to organize joint contests for the best article in the media among students and regular master-classes of the company representatives were discussed.
Associate Professor of Journalism and Communication Sciences of UNESCO J. Bekbolatuly told about the textbook "Kazirgi zamangy baspassaz qyzmeti" (by J. Bekbolatuly), which describes the experience of "Tengizchevroil" company.

At the end of the meeting it was decided that the company's representatives would participate in the creation of educational programmes on public relations, exchange of experience, as well as the writing of a joint training manual.
