A branch of NRNU MEPhI will be created in KazNU

An agreement was signed on the establishment of a branch of MEPhI on the basis of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, which defined the main areas of cooperation within the framework of an international project.

Kazakh National University has a rich experience of cooperation with foreign and Russian universities in the field of science and education development. In particular, over 150 cooperation agreements have been signed with leading universities and institutes of the Russian Federation, within the framework of which various educational programs and scientific and innovative projects are successfully implemented.

KazNU has a long-standing partnership with the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, which allows us to successfully implement joint educational programs in the master's degree program. Chairman of the Management Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University – Zhanseit Kanseituly Tuimebayev and Rector of MEPhI Vladimir Shevchenko took part in the signing ceremony of the agreement.
In his welcoming speech, the head of the country's leading university spoke about the achievements of the university, the implementation of international scientific and educational projects of KazNU and preparations for the opening of the branch of the MEPhI.
"In his address to the people of Kazakhstan, the Head of State of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev set a number of strategic tasks in the field of higher and postgraduate education, among which special attention is paid to in–depth training of personnel with technical education," the head of the university stressed.

The opening of a branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is an important step in strengthening our strategic partnership, which aims to jointly train specialists in the field of nuclear physics, laser and plasma technologies, nuclear energy, nanomaterials, nanotechnology, nanoelectronics and other fields in all groups of educational programs, including bachelor's, master's and doctoral studies". In turn, the Rector of MEPhI Vladimir Shevchenko, thanking the leadership of KazNU for the warm welcome, promised active assistance and assistance in solving all issues related to the establishment of a branch of a higher educational institution in Kazakhstan, which is among the top 3 best Russian universities.

The National Research Nuclear University MEPhI is one of the first national research universities established in Russia.
