KazNU has strengthened the status of of Leading University of Kazakhstan

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has once again become the best university in the national ranking "Popular Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan-2022". 

According to the results announced by the Independent Agency for accreditation and rating (IAAR), the KazNU has strengthened the status of the "Leading University of Kazakhstan" gaining the highest score among Kazakhstani universities. Since 2014 IAAR has been internationally accredited by the Observatory of Academic Ranking and Excellence (IREG) and annually conducts the National Rating "Top Universities in Demand of the Republic of Kazakhstan – 2022". It is aimed at transparency, objectivity, verifiability and accessibility of information sources, determining the quality of educational programs in areas and levels of training based on compliance with the "Berlin principles".

KazNU has made a breakthrough in this ranking by increasing the number of indexed scientific publications in world journals Q1-Q2 and the citation index. This clearly demonstrates the effectiveness and relevance of scientific research carried out by scientists of KazNU.

Being a classical multidisciplinary university combining education, science and innovation, KazNU is the leader in the number of scientific projects and publications in the country. Every fifth Kazakhstani publication in rating publications belongs to the university. Five scientific journals are included in the international database. The cumulative h-index of scientists working at KazNU is more than 3,100 people.

It should be noted that this year Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has risen by 25 positions in the international QS WUR rating and has been placed on 150^th position. This important achievement is the result of the well-coordinated work of the management, scientists and students aimed to transform the university into a world-class research university.
