PhD Orientation Week in Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

From September 5 to 9, 2022 PhD Orientation Week was held for the 1^st year Doctoral students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The program of the Week was intense and included webinars on organizing the process of preparing PhD students at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, conducting research and publishing scientific articles in international journals.

Renata Kudaibergenova, Head of the Department of Training and Certification of Research Personnel, presented detailed information about the process of preparing doctoral students at the university.

Leading young researchers, PhD Kuantai Boshkayev and Aknur Zhidebekkyzy, shared their experience in writing a dissertation and effective research planning. Director of the Local Ethical Committee of KazNU, UNESCO Regional bioethics coach, Associate Professor Gaynel Usatayeva held a webinar on the topic "Ethics of scientific research", which included the issues of academic integrity and the process of conducting ethical examination of scientific research. Invited speaker, Elsevier coach for Central Asia and Azerbaijan, Aizhan Salimzhanova presented valuable advice on how work with the Scopus database, how to effectively use existing tools when searching for foreign consultants, collaborators, as well as when preparing publications.

We assume that all five days of the orientation week were informative, professional and interesting for both participants and speakers.
